ICT Roadshow Montserrat ends with a commitment towards a national ICT plan

 BRADES, Montserrat – “We wondered if we could pull it off on Montserrat, but we rose to the challenge,” said Denzil West, Director of the Department of Information Technology and eGovernment Services (DITES) at the closing of the ICT Roadshow Montserrat last Friday.

ICT Roadshow presenters make recommendations for Montserrat’s national ICT plan

BRADES, Montserrat – Day One of the ICT Roadshow kicked off with several heavy hitting presentations from Senator Dr. Edmond Mansoor of Antigua & Barbuda and Senator Marc Bean of Bermuda and David Little of PSTG Consulting. The government officials spoke about the national ICT plans in their countries and presented options for Montserrat as it develops its own plan.

Chief Minister Reuben Meade calls for the use of ICT for efficiency

BRADES, Montserrat – “The horizon is limitless and so too are the possibilities,” for Montserrat says Chief Minister Reuben T. Meade, who gave the keynote address at the opening ceremony for the ICT Roadshow Montserrat on Wednesday evening at the Montserrat Cultural Centre. 

The leader called for government to use information communication technologies (ICTs) to become more efficient and offer better services for the general public.  He challenged department heads and the general public not to send him invitations by regular mail as he prefers to receive his correspondence electronically. BSS TV campaign launching at ICT Roadshow Montserrat

Everyone is asking “What is BSS?”

BRADES, Montserrat – BSS: Be Sexually Safe is the new television ad campaign developed by the HIV/AIDS/STI Multi-Sectoral Team, which will make its premiere during the ICT Roadshow on Montserrat.

The new series of 20 and 30 second spots feature local personalities and young people from across the island and will be shown during the live streaming of the three-day conference. They will also be available on the Government Information Unit’s YouTube channel. Read more

Antigua & Bermuda Case Studies to be presented at ICT Roadshow Montserrat

BRADES, Montserrat  – Two senior members of government from Antigua & Barbuda and Bermuda will present case studies on their national ICT plans during the ICT Roadshow which begins on Montserrat on Wednesday. 

The Honourable Dr. Edmond Mansoor, who is the Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Information, Broadcasting, Telecommunications, Science and Technology, has been at the epicentre of the ICT Revolution in Antigua and Barbuda. Read more

Dangers in Cyberspace is focus of ICT Roadshow Youth Forum

BRADES, Montserrat – The dangers lurking in cyberspace for our young people will be the main focus of the two Youth Forums scheduled as part of the ICT Roadshow Montserrat, which takes place from April 21 to 23, 2010 at the Montserrat Cultural Centre.

According to Nerissa Golden, Director of Information & Communications the youth forum on Thursday morning is open to students attending all of the primary schools and runs from 9am to 11:30am. On Friday, the youth forum for post primary students will begin at 1:30 until 4:30pm. Read more

BRADES, Montserrat – Leaving digital assets, such as financial accounts, reports, proposals, and client data unprotected is a common practice for small business owners in the region, says network security expert Gregory Richardson.

Richardson, who is the CEO of Secure Tech International, the first company in the North Eastern Caribbean to specialize in network security will be one of the speakers at the ICT Roadshow coming to Montserrat next Wednesday, April 21 to Friday, April 23, 2010.

ICT Roadshow Montserrat website goes live and will stream 3-day event

BRADES, Montserrat – The ICT Roadshow Montserrat website is now live and will also be the online location to view all of the presentations and activities of the three-day event as they happen.

According to Nerissa Golden, Director of Information & Communications the website is the collaboration between the Government Information Unit (GIU) and the Department of Information Technology and E-Government Systems (DITES), formally called GIS.
